This is Zoya FeiFei over OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui. It’s the first time I wore FeiFei, I think. Described by Zoya as “medium steel blue base with heavy gold and blue iridescent metallic sparkle,” the blue is a bit lost on me, so I layered OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui (a bright cobalt) underneath. Perfect!
Nails of this week is OPI Suzy Says Fengshui (mid-tone blue) and Zoya Feifei on the accent nail. Application is splotchy as I was too lazy to find my headlamp and glasses last night. Oh the years, the years! And can’t find my nail cutter and was too lazy to look for it, thus the uneven top.
I like to apply my nail polish straight up and not follow the nail bed; you can see below the gap I leave on the sides. This will give the illusion of a slimmer and longer nail. Don’t worry, no one will see the gap except you.
Zoya is my favorite nail polish brand of all time. So many of their colors are my must haves and go to’s. So I am very excited at their upcoming spring collections — haven’t been this excited over a collection in a looong time, years, perhaps even as far as the OPI France collection. Yes, eons ago. I hope everything will be as good as the promo pics show.
I am nearing the end of a holiday of sorts. A window of about 2 weeks where I work at home with no obligation for meeting a soul for work. Thus? Unorthodox nail colors galore!
It is unfortunate how blues and purples are deemed ‘not work appropriate’. Who decided on that??
These are a couple of my favorite. Cirque Colors ‘Epoch’ is a soft shimmer blue with a slight metallic edge.
Zoya ‘Yasmeen’ is my all time favorite purple. It is a dark purple that is not too dark to be mistaken for black. There is a golden edge when in full sunlight, the kind of soft, discreet gold shimmer that Zoya does best. Lovely for both hands and toes. It will also suit most skin tones, I believe.
Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is one of my girl crushes, and when I saw her wearing the bracelet above, I knew I had to have it. It’s such an unusual color combination, and purple is one of my beloved colors. This piece will go well with a lot of my wardrobe. Closer pictures of the bracelet can be seen in this blog, which follows all Kate’s fashion moments.
The bracelet itself is quite light and, to be honest, a bit flimsy. But that is not why this global citizen bought it. You can order it from here. The cost is £10 (including shipping to anywhere in the world), and proceeds go to the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), of which the Duchess is a patron.
In the pictures below, I paired the bracelet with Zoya nail polish in ‘Zara’, a mid-tone purple with very fine gold shimmer. Zoya is my favorite nail polish brand. One of their signature specialty is infusing a glowing gold sheen into any nail polish colors. You can see this clearly in Zara. It is an understated fun, and I like Zara for those middle-of-the-way occasions at work, where I can get away with a little funky, but not too funky to shock the humans.
